“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”― Maya Angelou
I always thought of expressing my feelings about a particular event that affected me in any way by writing it down on a piece of paper, but no matter how many times I try to jot down those thoughts, I couldn’t find proper words to convey them. I always read articles written by other people and wondered how easily they could write. Honestly, I was a bit jealous of them.
Recently, in my second module at GCU in skills class, we were told to write a blog to express our feeling on subjects that matter to us. I was quite nervous and had no idea about what or how to blog because it requires serious writing skills, and I had no experience of it. To understand the basics of blogging, I researched on the internet and began reading other blogs to have an idea. It was not that helpful until I wrote my first blog about homesickness. To write my first blog, I planned to write anything that comes to my mind on the topic. As I was writing it, I realized that I am pouring all my feelings in to it, I felt quite relieved afterward. Moreover, my blog was appreciated by my supervisor. To be honest, word of appreciation has overcome my fear and I am more confident to write and express my feelings daily.
It was not easy at first to think and write, but I am sure that I will learn more with time. It is a skill that many people can and should learn because it is a good way to express your feelings and be more creative.
